Can you help us test our new online questionnaires?

The following blog post is written by Ben Cubbon.

Hello, my name is Ben; I’m a User Researcher at the Office for National Statistics (ONS)

What’s this about?

ONS is the UK’s largest independent producer of official statistics. We collect information from the public and businesses to paint a picture of how we all live and to understand our economy.  Up until now we have mainly collected this information using paper questionnaires and speaking to people in their homes; it’s no secret that the public and businesses want to be able to provide their information to ONS online. In response to this demand we are developing our own online questionnaire tool and online versions of our Census, Business and Social Surveys.

How can you help?

I’m writing this post to invite as many people as possible to help us test what we are designing and developing. Whoever you are, whatever your situation, we are keen to hear your views on what we are producing. It is important that we get your feedback as one day you could be asked to complete one of our online questionnaires.

We want to invite you to test our online questionnaires, either in your own time using your own computers, or to take part in testing with someone from ONS so that we can better understand what you think of our online questionnaires.

How to take part

If you’d like to volunteer could you please fill out this short questionnaire to tell us a little about yourself, what your internet habits are and what type of testing you’d prefer to take part in. It may seem a little ironic to be completing a questionnaire to tell us about our questionnaires, but this will ensure that we only contact you to take part in testing that would be relevant to you.

Important information

The details you provide us will not be used for any marketing of any kind or in any statistics we produce. Your details and any feedback from testing will be kept anonymous.

Thank you

Your feedback will help us improve our service. We look forward to hearing from you.
